AI Exchange: Empowering Educators for Tomorrow

Zélia Capitão-Tavares (OCT, MEd, BEd) is an Elementary Teacher in the Toronto District School Board. She is a member of a professional learning network including Google Certified Innovator, a Microsoft Innovative Fellow, an HP Teaching Fellow, a KidsCodeJeunesse Ambassador, TeachSDGs Ambassador and a board member on MindShareLearning. She incorporates STEM and the UN Sustainable Development Goals empowering her students to see themselves as agents of change. Zélia believes in creating learning experiences for students to develop agency and share their voice; “to find the ‘spark’ in each student & step aside to let them shine!”
